Synoptic Chart
A high pressure over south Australian maintaining a ridge with tight pressure gradients over Vanuatu group. A cold front further East of New Zealand.

 

Satellite Images
Based on the latest (IR/VIS) satellite imagery, which includes a six-hour loop indicates few to broken low to mid level clouds over the group, occasionally overcast over North and some parts of central Islands. Latest METAR and Synoptic observations correlate with the current satellite imagery.

 

Models
The ridge mentioned above will remain south of Vanuatu group until Monday or Tuesday next week. The high pressure mentioned above will currently move over the Bight and will slowly move towards the Tasman Seas. It will reach the Tasman Sea by Wednesday or very late next week. A trough will develop over north of Fiji and Vanuatu, as such associated trough may develop near Northwest of Fiji on Monday next week. It is likely to track southerly over Fiji islands this this weekend and through Wednesday next week.

 

Outlook for the next 7 days
Cloudy with light showers of rain over North and parts of Central Islands, elsewhere Partly cloudy with a shower or two.Partly cloudy with brief showers over the group Tomorrow and Saturday. Cloudy with isolated showers over the group Sunday until Monday next week. Partly cloudy with a shower or two Tuesday till Thursday next week. Marine Strong Wind Warning is current over all coastal Waters.Light, moderate to fresh Southeasterly winds over the group.Minimum temperatures for tonight range from 22°C down south to 25°C up north.
Maximum temperatures for tomorrow range from 27°C down south to 31°C up north.
