There are 10 seismograph stations throughout the Vanuatu archipelago. When there is an earthquake somewhere in the Vanuatu region each seismograph station picks up the seismic waves and transmit the waves to the data centre in Port Vila. There is a detection time of 2 to 4 minutes after the earthquake.
